Did you know that Abyssinia, now Ethiopia is the original home of the coffee plant?
According to Ethiopia's ancient history an Abyssinian goat herder named Kaldi, who lived around AD 850, discovered coffee.
Kaldi observed his goats prancing and bleating loudly after chewing the bright red berries.
Later Kaldi tried a few of the berries himself and soon felt a sense of exhilaration.
From there, we have what we now know as brewed coffee.
