State of Gratitude

For as long as I can remember I have always assumed the way to get ahead was to be ambitious, work hard and be disciplined. This notion of strong will and achievement has been so ingrained in me. Keep your head down put in the work and you will be successful. Crazy enough though I have found from experience, this only works to a certain degree of fulfillment or achievement. Recently I have discovered a correlation between my place on the gratitude spectrum and my ability to make progress and achieve. During seasons or days where I felt more gratitude towards life. I felt more willing to work hard, focus and capable of handling my routines. My state of gratitude was not a reflection of something positive or negative going on in my life during those moments but rather my ability to reflect and be grateful for life. It didn’t matter if situations were negative or positive , my state of gratitude tremendously affected my behavior. “Acknowledging the good you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” - Eckhart Tolle
